Mrs. Rivers Virginia Kendall Franklin, 91, of Cascilla, passed away Friday, January 16, 2026, in Grenada, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 10, 1934, in Tallahatchie County to John Daniel Kendall and Vinnie Kendall.
A devoted homemaker and faithful pastor's wife, Mrs. Franklin had a deep love for people and a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome in her presence. She possessed a calm and comforting spirit, always putting others at ease, and her love for the Lord was evident in every aspect of her life. Through her kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith, she touched countless lives and leaves behind a legacy of love and service.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 19, 2026 at The North Church (formerly North Shady Grove Church of God). Interment will follow in the North Shady Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM Sunday evening and one hour prior to the service Monday all at the church.
Survivors include her daughter, Julia Ann Franklin Winters(Merle) of Cascilla; three sons, Kenneth Franklin of Cascilla, Luther Derel Franklin of Sarepta and Terry Franklin(Brinda) of Coffeeville; one brother, Doyle Kendall of Cascilla; 19 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Franklin was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rev. E.M. Franklin; daughter, Tony Rideout, three sons, Max Franklin, Earl Franklin and Perry Franklin; four sisters, Margaret Hill Moss, Essie Allbritton, Dessie Bledsoe and Elizabeth Vance and a brother, Ottie Daniel Kendall.
Matt Allen, Brandon Franklin, Derel Franklin, Jonathan Franklin, Scout Franklin and Anthony Rideout will honor Mrs. Franklin by serving as pallbearers.
