Mr. Roy Lee "R.L." Dixon, of Grenada, MS went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 while surrounded by his loving family. R.L. was born on April 15, 1934 to William Arthur and Zettie Hubbard Dixon. He was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. He was Co-Owner of Shaw's Meat Company in Grenada for many years and had worked in the meat business for over 60 years. He really enjoyed seeing all of his customers through the years, up until his retirement at age 83. He dearly loved his family, loved His Lord and will surely be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, April 26, 2019 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with Rev. James McElroy and Rev. Howard Beam officiating. Interment will follow in the Oddfellows Cemetery in Grenada. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time Friday at McKibben and Guinn.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Mabry Dixon; his daughter, Mitzi Rowland(Kenneth) of Oakland; son, Steve Dixon(Launa), of Grenada; one sister, Frances Austin of Grenada; two brothers, James Dixon of Clinton and Marvin Dixon of Senatobia; six grandchildren, B.J. Dixon, Josh Coaten(Tanya), Mallory Tilghman(John), Lindsey Byford(Robbie Pruitt), Karrie Byford and Trey Walters; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife of 52 years, Rebecca Dixon and a daughter, Lisa Dixon Hood.
