Mr. Robert Lamar Overstreet, Jr., 80, a long-time resident of Southaven, MS, died Tuesday, February 1, 2022. He was born April 1, 1941 in Greenwood to Robert Lamar, Sr. and Ethel Garrard Overstreet. Bob earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Delta State University and was an educator for a number of years before working in outside sales. He was a member of Whitehaven Baptist Church in Memphis and was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, February 7, 2022 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with Rev. Eugene Heimbach officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service Monday at McKibben and Guinn.
Survivors include a sister, Betty Burns of Baton Rouge, LA; one niece and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, June McGlone Overstreet; nephew, Ray T. Burns, Jr., and a brother-in-law, Raymond Burns, Sr.
