Mr. Robert Monroe Pate, Jr., 79, of Coffeeville, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi in Oxford. He was born September 25, 1936 in Shaw, MS to Robert Monroe, Sr. and Myrtie Rogers Pate. He was a retired airplane mechanic.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 30, 2016 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada. Interment will follow in the New Hope Cemetery near Coffeeville. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Survivors include three daughters, Debbie McGehee and her husband, Doug of Coffeeville, Glenda Barber of Hernando and Connie Pate of Grenada; five grandchildren, Angela Brown (Dennis), Brandi Walters (Matt), Carla Hoffman (Brad), Danielle Hammond (Jason), and Jimmy McCollum; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six sisters, Agnes Mitchell, Ruth Wilkerson, Flora Cauley, Katherine Cauley, Carrie Ziegler and Gladys Tatum; and three brothers, James Pate, Rudolph Pate and Eugene Pate.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Glen Ables, Dalton Logan Brown, Douglas Lamar Brown, Freddie Reese Pate, Jerry Dale Pate, Jr., and David Leon Wilkerson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dennis Brown and Doug McGehee.
Memorials may be directed to the New Hope Cemetery Fund in Coffeeville.
