Mr. Ronald Ray Tilghman, 74, of Grenada, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi in Oxford. He was born August 19, 1942 in Grenada to Ottis and Irene Lacy Tilghman. He was a retired Assistant Police Chief with the City of Grenada and was also a retired roofing contractor and later worked for the Mississippi Department of Transportation. He was also an avid crappie fisherman.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 20, 2017 at the Grenada Church of God with Rev. Clarence Tilghman. Interment will follow in the Smith Cemetery at Rosebloom. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until service time Monday at the church.
Survivors include one daughter, Sherri Duke (Guy) of Daphne, AL; one son, Ronnie Tilghman (Paula) of Coffeeville; three sisters, Lou Alice Hicks of Grenada, Irene Ables of Conroe, TX and Wanda Woodruff of Madison; three brothers, Freddie Tilghman and H.A. Tilghman, both of Grenada and Clovis Tilghman of Guntown; three grandchildren, William Whitten, John Luke Whitten and Leslie Tilghman Ingle; and two great-grandchildren, Braiden Jackson and Liam Whitten.
Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
