On Friday June 5,2020, Mrs. Rose Davis passed from this life into the arms of her Heavenly Father. She was born March 28, 1940, in Alva, MS to Tom and Clara Thornburg. She married her husband Joe Davis on December 31, 1959. When they moved from Southaven, MS to Kissimmee, FL, she spent many years as a waitress, she owned her own bakery for a time, and had a daycare. All these jobs involved the thing that she loved most which was being around people. When she moved home to Mississippi, she spent a lot of time in the kitchen baking with her granddaughters, while listening to oldies on the radio, and cooking for her family. She always looked forward to her Sunday dinners with those she loved.

She is survived by: daughter Darla Mitchell (Kenny) of Duck Hill, Joe Davis (Joyce) of St. Cloud, FL, and Jerry Davis(Michelle) of St. Cloud, FL. Granddaughters Allison McGee (Matt) of Duck Hill, Angela Cox (Caleb) of Madison, Kris Whitten(William) of Tupelo, TJ Mitchell(Kayla) of Duck Hill,  Megan Roberts of Live Oak, FL, Jennifer Brannon (Mike) of St. Cloud, FL, Kayla Howard (Wesley) of Georgia, Karlie Heatherly (Jimmy) of Georgia, and Grandson Creighton Davis (Kayla) of Georgia and 16 great grandchildren. Brother Johnny (Sarah) Thornburg of Rickman, TN and sisters Martha Rogers of Eupora, MS, Margaret Griffin of Grenada, MS, and Sue Sloane (Doug) of Washington.

She is preceded in death by her husband Joe Davis, sister Lillian Geter, and brother William "Bill" Thornburg.

Pallbearers will be Matt McGee, Caleb Cox, TJ Mitchell, Robby Roberts, Louis Ray, and Jeff Chamblee.

Her family would like to thank Solaris Healthcare and all of their workers for taking such good care of their mom and Nana for the past two years and Vitas Hospice who helped make her last days those of peace and comfort. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM Thursday, June 11, 2020 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada.  A graveside service will follow immediately at the Alva Parker Cemetery with Rev. Tim Buchanan officiating.
