Obituary

Rose Marie Marascalco, the eldest living Marascalco, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 19 th in Grenada, Mississippi.  She was born September 13 th , 1923 and just celebrated her 97 th birthday.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Monday, September 21, 2020 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Grenada.  Interment will follow in the Marascalco family plot at Woodlawn Memorial Park.  Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.  Social distancing and all other guidelines will be observed.

Rose, also known as "Little Rose" or "Aunt Rosie" and devout Catholic, was one of the oldest parishioners of St. Peter Catholic Church and daughter to one of the founding families that built the church.  She was also a member of the Ladies Sodality of St. Peter and truly lived life to the fullest.   She left Grenada and made her life in Memphis, TN where she worked as a Bookkeeper for the florist of the Peabody Hotel until her retirement.  Never forgetting her roots, she returned home to Grenada to live out the remainder of her life with family.  Aunt Rosie always had the sweetest smile on her face and was full of humor and personality.   She loved fashion and accessories and was always dressed in the latest trends.  Her willingness to help others, quick wit, and laugh will never be forgotten.

Rose Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Virginia Fertitta Marascalco; her sisters Mary V. Marascalco and Donie Marie (Anthony) Liberto; her brothers Joseph (T-Joe) Marascalco, Sam P. Marascalco, Charles J. Marascalco, Lewis P. Marascalco and Carmelo Pete (Marie) Marascalco.

Rose Marie is survived by her brother John (Rosemarie) Marascalco, Los Angeles, CA; and a host of nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; great great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Curlee Boone, Warren Guillory, Paul Liberto, Raymond Liberto, Paul Marascalco, Monroe McCormick, Edward Stahl and Samuel Stewart.

Memorials may be directed to St. Peter Catholic Church or the Angelman Syndrome Foundation.
