Mrs. Ruby Helen Clanton McCalop, 93, of Grenada, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Grenada. She was born June 12, 1922 in Webster County to Dewey Lee and Arianna Virginia Montgomery Clanton. She was a member and former Sunday School teacher at Sparta United Methodist Church and retired from Pennaco Hosiery after having worked there more than 30 years.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, June 13, 2016 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with Rev. Jack Smith and Rev. Ricky Reece officiating. Interment will follow in the Sparta Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until service time Monday at the funeral home.
Survivors include four daughters, Faye Blakely (George) of Coffeeville, Joan McDaniel (Joe) of Holcomb, Glenda Sides of Grenada and Judy Meeks of Senatobia; five grandchildren, George Blakely, Misty Campbell, Brandon McDaniel, Cleta Parker and Anthony Sides; ten great-grandchildren, Kayla Franklin, Mark Campbell, Adam Campbell, Will Campbell, Kurt Blakely, Blake Sides, Cole Campbell, Payton Parker, Carly Parker and Toni-Reece; and one sister, Jean Nation of Holcomb.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James Glynn McCalop.
Pallbearers will be Kurt Blakely, Mark Campbell, Adam Campbell, Will Campbell, Cole Campbell and Kyle Franklin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bobby Andrews, Joey Brown and Terry Pigg.
