Mrs. Rudelle Elizabeth Davis Duke, 88, of Memphis, passed away Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Allenbrook Nursing Home in Memphis. She was born January 26, 1930 in Yalobusha County to John Washington and Minnie Leila Schmitz Davis. Mrs. Duke was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a graduate of Holmes Junior College and Memphis State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Education. She enjoyed a long career in education having taught at Skuna Valley, Coffeeville, Memphis City Schools and the Shelby County Schools.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, November 5, 2018 at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Truman Scarborough officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.

Survivors include two daughters, Sanders Etter of Southaven and Sylvia Duke of Memphis; seven grandchildren, Bryan Duke, Lauren Duke, James Harrelson, Tonya Mitchell, Anita Fleury, Barbara Lowe and Courtney Etter; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Adam Vance Duke; son, Adam Vance Duke, II; granddaughter, Connie Duke; sister, Emma Sue Harrison; and two brothers, Duard Davis and John C. Davis.
