Mr. Samie Lee Shepherd, 88, of Duck Hill, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017 in Grenada. He was born November 23, 1928 in Lexington to Robert and Lillie Black Shepherd. Sam was a member of Elliott Baptist Church and a retired farmer.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with Dr. Cecil Fayard officiating. Interment will follow in the Duck Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Monday evening and one hour prior to the service Tuesday all at McKibben and Guinn.
Survivors include his son, Kenneth Shepherd and his wife, Becky of Duck Hill; three grandchildren, Kevin Shepherd and his wife, Brenda of Gore Springs, Kimberly Shepherd of Grenada and Krystal Kipapa and her husband, Isy of Winona; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Martha Kirkwood of Grenada; and two sister-in-laws, Linda Crosthwait of Duck Hill and Sandra Shepherd of Duck Hill.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maggie Sue Marter Shepherd; infant son, Harold Ray Shepherd; two sisters, Shirley Raffel and Mary Poe; and two brothers, Albert Shepherd and Warner Shepherd.
