Sandra
Holland
Nov 8, 1949 — Jul 22, 2026
Grenada
Mrs. Sandra Snell Holland, 76, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital. Born on November 8, 1949, in Water Valley to John Leslie "Brother" Snell, Jr. and Nora King Snell, Sandra lived a life defined by faith, service, and love. A proud graduate of the Mississippi College for Women and a member of the Rosette Social Club, she later earned her Master’s in Counseling from Mississippi State University. Sandra dedicated 38 years to the students of the Grenada School District, first in the classroom and later in the counselor's office, impacting countless young lives.
Sandra was a pillar of Duck Hill Baptist Church, where her music filled the sanctuary as the organist for nearly 40 years. Her joys were simple and profound: she was an avid reader, a competitive bridge player, and a devoted member of the Explorer's Bible Study Group. She loved her community deeply through the Grenada Pilot Club and never missed a daily update from her favorite stories on The Young and the Restless. As an avid Mississippi State fan, she enjoyed nothing more than cheering on the Bulldogs.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Duck Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Lloyd Sweatt, Rev. Jon Hood, and Bro. Cole Surrell officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to gather for a time of remembrance from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Saturday at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service, and again at the church on Sunday one hour prior to the service.
Survivors include her girls, Leslie Holland and Claire Holland; sister, Susan Honeycutt(Dale); brother-in-laws, Johnny Holland and Johnny Melton; lifelong friends: Glenn and Billie Young along with a host of extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Steve Holland; sister-in-law, Vicky Holland Melton; and brother-in-law, Hugh Holland.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Parker Honeycutt, Patrick Honeycutt, Jason King, Will King, Casey Melton and Corey Melton.
