Mrs. Sara Jane Haynes Laster, 74, of Duck Hill, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born February 15, 1944 in Duck Hill to Gracy C. and Bobbie Mitchell Haynes. She had worked for many years at Heatcraft in Grenada and was of the Baptist faith. Affectionately known as "SaSa", she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister as well as a devoted friend. Sara will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, January 20, 2019 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada. Interment will follow in the Duck Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time Sunday at McKibben and Guinn.
Survivors include her husband, Johnny Laster of Duck Hill; two daughters, Angie Lancaster(Jeff) of Duck Hill and Dawn Traugott(Allan) of Grenada; three sisters, Betty Abel, Glenda Sanford and Sonja Lanahan, all of Duck Hill; three brothers, Joe Haynes of Grenada, Jimmy Haynes of Elliott and Terry Haynes of Duck Hill; four grandchildren, Brandon Vance(Joy), Chase Lancaster(Kelcy), Cody Lancaster(Myranda) and Bailey Traugott; and one great-granddaughter, Ella Vance.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Patsy Wilson and a brother, Larry Haynes.
Pallbearers will be Brad Haynes, Chase Lancaster, Cody Lancaster, Larry Laster, Glenn Stafford and Brandon Vance.
