Mr. Roy Lee "Scooter" Cook, Jr., 47, of Grenada, passed away Friday, July 29, 2022 at his residence.  He was born May 9, 1975 in Shelby to Roy Lee, Sr. and Laura Hollis Cook.  "Scooter", as he was best known to his friends, had worked as a warehouse manager for Durable Medical Equipment and most recently, worked as a self-employed carpenter.  An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing at every opportunity.  Scooter was also an accomplished musician and enjoyed picking up the guitar and playing his favorite music.  He was blessed with the ability to draw and used this talent to bring joy to others that he shared it with.  Scooter was also an avid LSU and New Orleans Saints fan.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Rev. Lynn Welch officiating.  Interment will follow in the Magnolia Gardens Cemetery at Paynes.  Family and friends will gather from 12:00 noon until service time Tuesday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include his mother, Laura Cook of Grenada; three daughters, Trinity Cook and Tristen Cook, both of Greenville and Bailee Cook of Oklahoma; two sons, Dylan Cook of Greenville and Easton Cook of Holcomb; sister, Crissy Cook of Grenada; two nieces, Haley Counts and Jessica Misskelley; nephew, Dakota Chisholm and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins whom he dearly loved.

He was preceded in death by his father; long-time companion, Candace Blaylock Shaw and his grandparents, Dan and Ina Clay Hollis and Jack and Mary Cook.
