IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Shirley
Carroll
June 11, 1939 – February 1, 2026
Mrs. Shirley Ann Singley Carroll, 86, of Grenada, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026 at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born June 11, 1939 in Carroll County to Morgan Herman Singley and Ruby Grace Ezell Singley. Shirley was married to Charles Heath Carroll for 67 years prior to his death in 2022. Shirley worked more than thirty years at Heatcraft in the tubing department and later as a dispatcher. She could be recognized at a glance by her signature hair style. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed canning and preserving fresh vegetables. You were sure to find a wonderful, home-cooked meal on Sundays where friends and family often gathered for food and fellowship. Prior to retirement, Shirley learned to play the upright bass fiddle. She loved to play bluegrass music with her band, the Good Times Xpress. The band played at local festivals, restaurants, and Mountain View, Arkansas. She often said playing music was the best time in her life. She was a member of Bethel Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 8, 2026 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Rev. Chuck Provine and Rev. Billy Little officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethel Cemetery in Carroll County. The family will receive friends from noon until service time Sunday at McKibben and Guinn.
Survivors include two daughters, Lovey Britt(Ray) of Grenada and Carol Beck(Ricky) of Gore Springs; sister, Glenda DuBard of Jefferson; a granddaughter, Lacy Walker of Grenada; two great-granddaughters, Alyssa Walker and Avery Wrenn; and beloved granddog, Taz.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Pauline Singley; brothers, Paul, Sonny and Bobby Singley; sister, Thelma Ruth Joyner; grandsons, Shane Britt and Zack Windham; and a great-grandson, Cole Walker.
