Mrs. Shirley Faye Anthony Childs, 87, of Big Creek, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at her residence.  She was born September 12, 1934 in Futheyville to Drewey Mack and Rosa Belle Conner Anthony.  Shirley trained at the Mobile Infirmary as a Medical Technologist and spent the early part of her career working at the Eckford Clinic and the University of Mississippi Medical Center.  She later expanded her scope of work and studied Blood Banking at the Baptist Hospital in New Orleans.  After moving back to the Grenada area she enjoyed a career spanning 24 years at Greenwood Leflore Hospital, Tyler Holmes Hospital and Grenada Lake Medical Center.  She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 6, 2021 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with Bro. Joe Russell officiating.  Interment will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery at Big Creek.  Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service Saturday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Files Browning of Big Creek; three sons, Hubert Roy Files, Jr.(Threasa) of Big Creek, Gilbert Mack Files(Melinda) of Water Valley and Lee Andrew "Andy" Harrison(Lacon) of Madison, AL; seven grandchildren, J.D. Hollis, Krystal Hollis, Alice Files, Rose Files, Dustin Files, Conner Harrison and Vada Harrison.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Hubert Roy Files, Sr., George Weaver Harrison and Rufus Fletcher Childs, Jr.; and seven siblings.
