Mrs. Sue Haney Chandler, 78, of Sumner, passed away Monday, February 20, 2017 at Riverview Nursing Home in Greenwood. She was born May 14, 1938 in Duck Hill to Roy Arnold and Nora Elaine Burgess Haney. She was a member of the First Baptist Church - Sumner and a retired bookkeeper. She also enjoyed being a member of the Tallahatchie Homemakers Club.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Thursday, February 23, 2017 at First Baptist Church – Sumner with Rev. Shane Hoes and Rev. Milton Whatley officiating. Interment will follow in the Sumner Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time Thursday at the church.
Survivors include one daughter, Cindy Whatley (Milton) of Meadville; three sons, Tony Chandler (Lisa) of Water Valley, Michael Chandler (Cindy) of Ridgeland and Mark Chandler of Meridian; two sisters, Dorothy Ann Walters of Sumner and Patricia Arnold Green of Clarksdale; six grandchildren, Aaron Chandler, Ryan Chandler, Hunter Elmore, C.A. Chandler, Mae McClish and Lizzie Chandler; three great-grandchildren, Ava Grace Chandler, Alice Chandler and Ezra McClish.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Claudie Clifton Chandler and a brother, J.W. Haney.
