Mrs. Margaret Suzanne Burgreen Schmitz, 71, of Carrollton, passed away Monday, February 16, 2026 in Grenada. She was born February 3, 1955 in San Diego, CA to Conrad Lorendo Burgreen and Margaret Jane Martin Burgreen. Suzanne earned a Bachelors Degree in Home Economics from Christian Heritage College. She and her husband, Burt, served as missionaries, spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ, with the International Mission Board in Togo and Senegal. Suzanne worshipped the Lord with her family at Christ Community Church in Grenada where she served in children's ministry, on the Hospitality Committee and also on the Martha Ministry, cooking and ministering to those in need. Above all, Suzanne lead a life committed to serving others and spreading the good news about Jesus.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Christ Community Church. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service at the church.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Burton Schmitz; daughter, Rebekah Schmitz of Carrollton; son, Joshua Schmitz(Mary Clair) of Grenada; mother, Margaret Burgreen of San Diego, CA; sisters, Nancy Burgess and Betsy Burgreen, both of San Diego, CA; and her father-in-law, L.G. Schmitz of Carrollton.
