Teresa Jane Hanks Austin

May 1st 1956 - March 10th, 2026 

Teresa Jane Austin, age 69, of Grenada, passed away at home Tuesday, March 10th, 2026. She was born May 1st, 1956 in Grenada to Robert "Bill" O'Bryant and Mrs. Margaret Dell McGarrity O'Bryant. Teresa graduated from Charleston High School in 1974. She held numerous jobs with her time being spent raising her three sons. She enjoyed watching her boys and grandson play ball at the Grenada Youth League. She was raised in church with her parents and attended Stonefield Church of God. She had a great love for her grandchildren and family. 

Survivors include her beloved husband, Hilton Edward Austin; her three sisters, Sandi Page(Daniel) of Jackson, Elissa Diane Hood of Flower Mound, TX and Angela Dell Smallwood(Randy McGregor) of Grenada; her three sons, Jeremy O'Bryant of Grenada, Eric Hanks(Amanda) of Grenada, Matthew Hanks(Michael) of Broomfield, CO; and three grandchildren, Jordan O’Bryant, Silas O’Bryant and Ellie Hanks. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Barry Steven Hanks and beloved grandson, Jonah Steven Hanks. 

Visitation will be held 2:00 - 3:00 PM Friday, March 13, 2026 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada. Immediately following visitation, a service will be held at 3:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park in Grenada.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Greg Ayers, Tyler Ayers, Caleb Brown, Randy McGregor, Eli Smallwood and Lee Smallwood.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
