Tommie McCaulla Childers was born July 24, 1924 and passed away on Monday April 25, 2022 at her home in Grenada, MS. Tommie was preceded in death by her husband David R. Childers and parents Jim and Katie McCaulla. Tommie was an active member of her church family at First Presbyterian Church in Grenada where she served for many years as an Elder and on numerous committees. She had a long time career in the banking industry where she worked for Grenada Bank, Sunburst Bank, and retired from Union Planters as Vice President of the trust department. She never met a stranger and would know everyone by name everywhere she went. If she didn't know you, she would by the time she left. She was a very sweet and sociable lady.

She is survived by her sister Katherine Winebrenner and brother Jim McCaulla (Paula).  She never had children of her own but all of her nieces and nephews were loved as her children. She leaves behind Linda Whitehurst (Tim) of Grenada, Billy Winebrenner (Gail) of Grenada, Lee McCaulla of Torrance, California, Paul (Bo) McCaulla (Dianne, Aislin, Rowan) of Cordova, TN, Beth Richards (Tyler, Lacey, Brody) of Newark, OH and Richard Childers (Peggy, Meg) of Memphis, TN. She also leaves behind many great nieces and nephews, Amy Killebrew (Casey, Bryce) of Grenada, Chris Whitehurst (Lashae, Kylie, Jaidyn), of Grenada, Michael Winebrenner (Roxanne, Eli, Jude, Leo, Andi) of Olive Branch, MS, Barbie Robinson (Clint, Wyatt, Levi) of Cookeville, TN, and Emily Picard (Ryan, Noah) of Starkville, MS. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her, and we know she is celebrating with her husband and Jesus in Heaven.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 28, 2022 at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bobby Taylor Vance and Rev. Jonathan Moore officiating.  Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park.  Family and friends will gather from 1:00 PM until service time Thursday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Casey Killebrew, Lee McCaulla, Paul McCaulla, Bryce Stegall, Chris Whitehurst and Michael Winebrenner.
