Mr. Van Carlton Goode, Sr., 88, of Tillatoba, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021 at his residence.  He was born July 28, 1933 in Como to Van and Nancy Wolfe Goode.  Mr. Goode was a retired diesel mechanic and attended Tillatoba Baptist Church.  An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed running his bulldozer and working his cows.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 8, 2021 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with Rev. Mike Ramage officiating.  Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery at Tillatoba.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday evening and one hour prior to the service Friday all at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include his wife, Sheryn Goode; three daughters, Linda Shelton(David) of Nesbit, Dana Huffman(Lee) of Bartlett, TN and Sonja Mercer(Joel) of Arlington, TN; two sisters, Sarah Tillman and Ruth Jaudon, both of Batesville; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Van Goode, Jr. and Johnny Goode; sister, Ruby Tubbs and a granddaughter, Susan Myrick.

Pallbearers will be Chris Goode, Micah Goode, Skyler Heigh, Devon Huffman, Fischer Huffman and Kyle Shelton.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Andrew Kerr and Ed Wilks.

Memorials may be directed to the Union Cemetery Fund.
