Mrs. Virginia Mae Holloway Putman, 81, of Grenada, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Grenada Living Center. She was born March 7, 1937 in Calhoun County to Gilbert Lee and Nannie Mae Pendergrast Holloway. She was a devoted homemaker and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She loved camping and fishing.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 26, 2018 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Calhoun County. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Saturday at McKibben and Guinn.
Survivors include her husband, Lewis Putman; one daughter, Carol Hecker (Larry) of Grenada; one son, John Putman of Ripley; one sister, Dorothy Sue Fleming of Columbus; one grandson, Joseph Putman and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Syble Jones and two brothers, Edward Earl Holloway and Gilbert Lafayette Holloway.
Pallbearers will be Randy Byars, Joe Cox, Larry Hecker, Joseph Putman, Barry Rounsaville and Terry Sides. Honorary Pallbearers will be Charles Caffey, Andy Grass, Joe Harbin, George Mullen and Kenny Schmitz.
