Mrs. Vivian Moore Branscome, 91, of Duck Hill, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at her residence. She was born June 21, 1924, in Duck Hill to Everette Moore, Sr. and Frances Bowen Moore. She was a homemaker and a member of Duck Hill Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was the church's longest standing member, having joined the church in 1934. She had also participated in the Community Bible Study in Grenada for many years.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 1, 2016, at Duck Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Buchanan and Rev. Elizabeth Wheatley-Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Duck Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday evening at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Nipper and her husband, Mike of Grenada; one son, Ray Branscome and his wife, Glenda of Grenada; five grandchildren, Dr. John Michael Nipper, Jr., Dr. Elliott Branscome Nipper, Laura Kathryn Moore Nipper, Cortney Branscome and Ryan Branscome; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, L.L. Branscome, Jr., and a brother, Everette E. Moore, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Grant, Elliott Nipper, Sr., Michael Nipper, Jr., Dusty Rainey, Monte Stewart and Ricky Swanson. Honorary Pallbearers will be her deacon, John Bennett and members of the Sanctuary Sunday School Class at Duck Hill Baptist Church.
