IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wannette
Franklin
March 21, 1938 – August 2, 2025
Mrs. Wannette Franklin went into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, August 2nd. She was born in Neshoba County, Mississippi on March 21st,1938. She spent most of her life raising her family in Mississippi. She had been a resident of Denniston, Kentucky for the past 13 years.
Wannette is survived by her husband of 70 years, Adrion Coats Franklin; three sons, Richard (Lori) Franklin, Larry (Cheryl) Franklin and Garry (Nancy) Franklin, three sisters; Sara (Wayne) McFerrin, Brenda (Sam) Shively, and Martha Whitehurst and two brothers; Randy (Ellen) Mars and George (Nancy) Mars and a special sister-in-law, Susan. She was blessed with a special Kentucky sister, Mrs. Phyllis Byrd.
She was very proud and adored her grandchildren, Charie, Larry, Heather, Ashley, Mikey, BJ, Chaz and Sara and her great-grandchildren; Triston, Shayla, Gabby, Lauren, Parker, Alyssa, Case, River, Madi, Adley, Rylan, Blaine and Chazalynn.
She was preceded in death by her parents George Edward and Necia Mars, her brother D'Ellis Green, three children; David Green, Mike Franklin and Lynette Franklin and one grandson; BJ Bonner.
Many siblings grow apart as time passes but Wannette, Sara, Martha and Brenda grew closer as the years passed and everyone knew of their many escapades involving too many jelly beans, missing fried chicken, mouths filled with crackers and no thrift store left behind. They had an amazing bond that was not changed by the miles between them.
Wannette was a member of Dayspring Church in Frenchburg and loved the times when she visited Bethel Baptist Church. Her Sundays were filled with watching several church services after her morning worship at Dayspring.
She spent her life on earth caring for others and always putting her family ahead of her own needs. She was a humble woman who loved Jesus and her family and considered it an honor to serve both.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6th from 11a-1p at Dayspring Church, Frenchburg, KY with the funeral at 1pm. Pastor Rodney Coffey and Tim Rhodes will be officiating.
Pall bearers will be her sons and grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service held Friday, August 8th at 11:30 AM in North Shady Grove Cemetery in Cascilla, MS with Pastor Kevin Tribble officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Wannette's name to the Dayspring Food Pantry, PO Box 30, Frenchburg, KY 40322.
