Mr. John Wayne Clark, 82, of Grenada, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi in Oxford.  He was born May 13, 1938 in Grenada to Ollie Lee and Christine Jones Clark.  Wayne retired after working for a number of years as the Superintendent of the Grenada Water Department.  He honorably served our country in the US Army and was a member of the American Legion.  Wayne was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.  He was also a founding member of the Geeslin Corner Volunteer Fire Department.  Wayne enjoyed fishing in his spare time.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 13, 2021 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Rev. Tim McCaffrey officiating.  Interment will follow in the Grenada Memorial Garden.  Family and friends will gather from 12:30 PM until service time Thursday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include a granddaughter, Brittany Clark Frazier(Landon) of Rosebloom; great-grandson, Bryce Frazier of Rosebloom; daughter-in-law, Amy Clark Bates of Grenada; sister, Betty Hayhurst of Kossuth; and two brothers, Jackie Clark of Kossuth and Ronnie Clark of Marietta.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ann Clark; son, Gary Wayne Clark and a sister, Marilyn Corneliuson.

Pallbearers will be Cary Clark, Corey Clark, Jackie Clark, Joey Clark, Ronald Clark and Doug Hayhurst.

Memorials may be directed to Friendship Baptist Church.
