Obituary

Mr. Wayne Braxton Mullen, 71, of Grenada, passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 while working on his family farm in Tallahatchie County. He was born Wednesday, August 22, 1945 in Tallahatchie County to Spencer Murkle and Constance Yvonne Taylor Mullen. He was a retired shipping and receiving supervisor at Bowater in Grenada, a National Guard Veteran and a member of Praise Apostolic Tabernacle. Wayne was a loving father and grandfather and a humble and faithful follower of Christ. A friend to all who knew him, he always put the needs of others ahead of himself. He was an avid outdoorsman and crappie fisherman.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, June 12, 2017 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada. Interment will follow in the Mullen Family Plot in the Paul Cemetery in Tallahatchie County. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Sunday evening and one hour prior to the service Monday all at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include two daughters, Monica Mullen Hawkins and her husband, Aaron of Madison and Angela Mullen Palazzolo and her husband, Joseph of Grenada; one son, Cody Mullen of Grenada; three sisters, Joy Dungan and her husband, Gene of Scobey, Gayle May and her husband, Kersh of Scobey and Ann Cox and her husband, Warren of Grenada; one brother, Spencer M. Mullen, Jr., and his wife, Linda of Marion, AR; four grandchildren, Heather Saucier, Mason Palazzolo, John Hawkins and Blake Palazzolo; and two great-grandchildren, Landree and Adilee Saucier.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Kaitlin Hawkins.

Pallbearers will be Earl Brewer, John Hawkins, Jimmy Hill, Blake Palazzolo, Mason Palazzolo and Jordan Roberts. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Brewer and Spencer M. Mullen, Jr.
