Mr. William Reed Barfield, Sr., 82, of Grenada, passed away Friday, June 17, 2022 at his residence.  He was born Friday, September 15, 1939 in Sarepta to Reed and Lou Edna Nichols Barfield.  Will spent most of his working life in construction as a pipefitter.  He honorably served our country in the US Navy and was a devoted family man.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Friendship Baptist Church in Grenada with Rev. Tim McCaffrey officiating.  Interment will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Bruce.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Tuesday at Friendship Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sheila Barfield; three daughters, Nancy Barfield Piper of Bossier City, LA, Michelle Barfield Cossey of Thorn and Lora Chaddon of Missouri; two sons, William Reed Barfield, Jr. of Grenada and Michael Bryan Kunefke of Fairbanks, AK; one brother, Billy Joe Barfield of Vardaman; five grandchildren, Kristen Hudson, Kelsey Richardson, Noelle Cossey, Amber Cossey and Keegan Barfield; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James Henry and Charlie Jackson Barfield.
