Mrs. Yvonna Blakely Threadgill, 92, a beloved member of the Red Hill Community, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at her residence with her family by her side.
Born on January 15, 1934, in the Red Hill Community, she was the daughter of Shed and Lena Belle Collins Blakely. A graduate of Gore Springs High School, Yvonna was a standout basketball player whose competitive spirit and determination were evident from an early age.
A devoted homemaker, Yvonna was a loving mother, grandmother, and the heart of her family. She worked tirelessly to create a warm and welcoming home, always placing the needs of her loved ones above her own. She had a deep love for music and was blessed with a beautiful singing voice that she joyfully shared with others. Over the years, she performed with her band, entertaining audiences far and wide and bringing happiness to countless people through her talent.
Yvonna was a follower of Jesus Christ. Her faith guided her throughout her life and was evident in the kindness, grace, and love she extended to others.
Her legacy of faith, love, music, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Family and friends will gather for visitation from 12:00 – 3:00 PM Saturday, June 6, 2026 at the Threadgill family residence located at 1561 Red Hill Rd, Duck Hill, MS 38925.
Survivors include three sons, Adrian Threadgill(Melissa) of Jonesboro, AR, John Threadgill(Beverly) of Calhoun City and Ben Threadgill(Faranak) of Collierville, TN; sister, Mamie Fowler of Red Hill; brother, Joe Max Blakely of Gore Springs and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Davis Threadgill; sons, Mark and Danny Threadgill; sisters, Vivian Dickson and Virginia Rocha and brothers, Terrell Blakely and Jack Blakely.
